Reflect

“John writes in his gospel about Jesus being the light of the world.

He says, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.” (John 1:4-5, 9)

He is talking about the birth of Jesus, the light of the world, who came so that whoever follows Him no longer has to walk in darkness. Jesus was born to take away the sins of the world, to suffer on the cross so that we could be saved.

As we proclaim that we will, “Sing hallelujah to the light of the world”, let us praise and thank God for His incredible gift of light to conquer the darkness and bring life.”
