God & Culture

Sermon Series | August 16 – September 6, 2020

Join us as we embark on a (timely) new sermon series – God & Culture. We’ll be exploring the design and function of the family, the government, and the church, what the Bible teaches us about how they overlap, and learn how we can flourish in each area by having a Biblical worldview.

– WEEK 1 –

Gospel Foundations

Michael Hearn

August 16, 2020

The family, the government, and the Church – all institutions created by God, but impacted by sin. At this time in history, the lines between secularization and Gospel-centered living have become blurred. To keep us grounded in the Gospel, we must develop Biblical convictions, have Christ-motivated compassion, and display Kingdom-oriented courage.

– WEEK 2 –

The Gospel and the Family

Michael Hearn

August 23, 2020

This week we are turning our attention to the Gospel and how it interacts with marriage and the family. In the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His disciples to take the Gospel to all nations. But before the Gospel travels to the end of the earth, it starts at home with us.

– WEEK 3 –

The Gospel and the Government

Michael Hearn

August 30, 2020

This week, Michael speaks about the Gospel and the Government. We can humbly, cautiously, faithfully engage in conversations about government, being students of the word of God, so we know what it says and can live it out. The most important thing we as the Church can do is to exalt the name of Christ.

The Gospel and the Church

Michael Hearn

September 6, 2020

As Christ followers, we, as the Church, are ambassadors of the Kingdom of God. It’s time to stop acting like we have an allegiance to another kingdom. We are called to the mission of God; to advance His Kingdom on earth until He returns.
