High School Ministry (Refuge)
Serving Role: R.E.P.S. (Refuge Event Parent Support)
Description: It’s our firm belief that high school students must have healthy relationships with adult believers. How else will they reach maturity in Christ if adults aren’t modeling it? This role puts adults (grandparents to young adults) in close proximity to high school students for the purpose of building relationships.
Commitment: Once a month commitment on Wednesday nights from 7-9:30pm; year long commitment. Just asking that you come, be yourself, and love high school students.

Compassionate Care

Description: Leads a team that serves the homeless in downtown Portland. We coordinate with Liberation Street Church and use their facilities located at the corner of SW 2nd and W Burnside. Cook soups and hot dogs, make sandwiches and try to demonstrate God’s kindness to this hurting group of people. Commitment: Lead a team every other month on the third Saturday of that month.

Description: The first five minutes at church are crucial to a visitor’s experience. Decisions are usually made in these first five minutes at the church as to whether the visitor will return. Hub team members are available to answer questions and provide information.

Ministry Name: Watchmen – The Ushers of Summit View Church
Serving Role: Watchman (Usher)
Description: These men have two primary functions: watchmen and hosts. The goal of the Ushers is to oversee the Sunday morning gatherings to help provide a seamless environment of worship. They provide security and assist visitors; assist the pastoral team in preparing the environment; collect tithes and offerings. Arrive 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the service.
Commitment: One to two Sundays per month and an occasional special event; attends both services on his designated Sunday. (The week they serve is always the same Sunday.)

CARE Groups
Serving Role: CARE Group Leader
Description: These men and women shepherd a small group of individuals. Summit View Church believes that the best environment to grow spiritually is in relational discipleship. A CARE group leader is instrumental in helping people become transformed into the likeness of Jesus. The CARE Leader invests into the lives of their people.
Commitment: CARE groups meet at least every two weeks, weekly during alignment series; a commitment of at least one year.
