Spring 2012
Did you to crash the party?
The State of the Church was an incredible celebration of all that God has done this past year in the life and ministry of Summit View. Below is a sketch of the direction we sense Jesus is leading us. Will you use it as a prayer guide? As you read through this, ask the Lord to lead and give us the power over the next two years to fulfill His calling on this family we call Summit View.
1,000 Stories – Lost, Found and Growing
We know that God longs to rescue His lost children by sending the gospel out through His followers. This happens best, not through events and programs, but through our daily lives. That is why we are committed to equipping all discipleship leaders to empower their CARE Groups to become “Mission Groups.” In other words, our groups do not exist just for the support of their own spiritual growth as believers, but as a hub to support individual missionary efforts.
We lifted this prayer to heaven a year ago… “Lord, over the next three years, please allow us to be a part of a 1,000 stories of those who were lost, then found and now are growing.” We estimate that we’ve seen over 100 people start a new life in Jesus, including ones who returned to Him after years of distance.
You can…
Pray that the Lord will send His people throughout Clark County to spread the gospel…that includes you! See yourself as a missionary and live each day accordingly. Learn the story of Jesus and how to share it.
Learn the story of your life and how to share it.
Relational Discipleship
The most valuable “resource” for spiritual growth is the leader, shepherd or mentor who is trying to help others grow in Christ. Therefore, the first four “tools” developed for the Spiritual Growth Grid were created to be useful for everyone who is attempting to disciple others. Furthermore, “The Leadership Table” has been developed for the support and training of all “relational disciplers.” Our retreat last fall was truly monumental in the life and mission of Summit View. We are currently developing more resources for our “Spiritual Growth Tool Box” designed to be used by leaders in the effort to provide doctrine, self-assessment and guided experiences that help each member of the group to become more like Jesus in his life and mission.
You can…
Pray for the growth of relational discipleship in Summit View. Step into a CARE Group or 1-on-1 relationship. Learn to how to help other grow spiritually.
Learn to how to coach discipleship leaders.
Dependency on the Holy Spirit – expecting more, receiving more As a body, we’re learning to seek after the Spirit with greater expectation and sensitivity. We are praying for our Sunday worship gatherings and trying to leave “more space” for the revealing work of the Spirit. To further this effort, we will be reestablishing our monthly Mission & Worship gatherings in which we wait upon the Lord in the midst of songs and silence… eager to see how He will move among his people.
You can…
Pray we will all expect & receive more from the Holy Spirit. Enter more gatherings having prayed that everyone (including you) will be open to the Spirit’s work. Join our evening Mission & Worship gatherings.
Wait on the Lord in silence…often.

Ball Fields Update -
We’re delighted to share our Heritage Park campus with Highlands Little League as we partner together to serve the broader community. We estimate some 200 kids from Highlands Little League and another 400 from Battle Ground Little League – along with their families – will be served each spring and summer.
