Child dedication is a way of publicly committing ourselves as parents to Christ and to the command set forth in Ephesians 6:4 “And now a word to you fathers. Don’t make your children angry by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction approved by the Lord,” and in Proverbs 22:6 (NLT) “Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.”
By dedicating your children to God, you are dedicating yourself to taking up the calling God has given you as parents and making a commitment to love and nurture your child or children. By dedicating your child to God, you are acknowledging His leadership in the parenting process and asking for His help and wisdom.
