Homeless Outreach

Sharing a warm meal and the hope of Christ

“Whoever is kind to the needy honors God” (Proverbs 14:31).

Summit View has partnered with Liberation Street Church (214 W Burnside St. Portland, OR 97209) to reach out to the homeless population in downtown Portland. We serve approximately 250 meals to the homeless once a month from October through March.

Meet in the Bi-Mart parking lot at 11912 NE Fourth Plain, Vancouver, at 9:30 a.m. for prayer and instructions. Bring homemade soup or chili, pre-made sandwiches, hot dogs and buns, fruit or granola bars. Please contact Sarah if you plan on attending to let her know what you’ll be bringing to serve.

During the winter months, we also bring gently-used clothing, coats, gloves, hats and toiletries to distribute. In serving this population we demonstrate we care for and desire to serve others. Through this outreach, we have built relationships and earned credibility. Some have prayed to receive Christ. Some now attend Liberation Street Church.
